V-Flyer

Having studied the seat ratings for the LGW A/C, I have pre-assigned/requested seats 80HK for some forthcoming flights the Caribbean.

One thing I am unsure about, is have I done the right thing?! Do they have full recline or limited as they are the back row of the bubble? And do you get lots of crows there from people wandering up to the galley?

Any thoughts would be appreciated [?]

Yes, they have full recline, and yes you may find pax and crew wandering around that area as its close to the galley, although its not that bad as the cabin is a lot smaller and passengers can stretch their legs by the stairs. The only other negative is that you'll be served your meal last so may not get first choice but you can recline with ease and without bothering anybody and you can make a speedy exit on arrival. I'd go for them!

We like them on an outbound flight as you're usually first off and usually chat with crew.

For overnight inbound flights I'd rather be further forward in row 74,if available, as sometimes crew can be busy in the galley or chatting and it can disturb any sleep you might get.

I try to grab 80K when flying to Barbados. Since I'm self conscious about reclining my seat into somebody's face I like to sit somewhere where I can recline without worrying about this. Never had any problem with getting my choice of meal (lucky perhaps) and it's great to be one of the first off the plane, especially where there's a mad dash to get to immigration at the head of the queue.

I've never really been bothered by people wandering around. On my last flight to Barbados we had a very proactive CC who were rushing round a lot serving people in their seats. If anything there were more people milling round the toilets at the front of the cabin. However, on one flight home there was a lot of noise from the galley (which I put down to an ever-excited member of crew) but subsequently it's been OK. But, then again, I don't tend to sleep much on the return flights on account of the temperature in the cabin [n]

Thanks guys, you have put my mind at rest. My partner is a very nervous flyer so I like to make sure I have crossed every t and dotted every i so the journey is as easy as possible!

Have you told VS that yur partner is a nervous flyer? They are usually excellent if they know in advance.

I think I have told everyone and anyone that would listen!

we sat in those seats on the way to Jamaica and they were fab. I like your partner am a bad flyer and I actually enjoyed the flights.

I think they're the best PE seats, followed closely by 79A and C.

We had no problems in 79A/C it was a quiet flight returning from MCO

I love both row 79 A&C and 80 H&K they are the only seats in PE which I feel comfortable in. Even my DH manages to sleep on the inbound flight in these seats. The ones I hate are the exit row seats which we are usually moved to on our return.

if you're flying into Barbados you'll definately want those seats to get off faster (unless you're transiting) as they queue for immigration often extends out the door with VS, BA, AA, AirCanada all landing within 20 minutes of each other 0)

True, if you can get down the stairs you're off very quickly. Though the last couple of times I arrived there it was relatively quiet at immigration with the VS flight beating the BA and AirCanada ones in. The AA flight had already disgorged its passengers.

What made me laugh though was the woman dragging her poor partner along at a rate of knots saying 'Hurry up I want to get to immigration before these rich b*****ds', I've been called a lot of things in my time, but...[:D]

We have managed to pre-assign 79 A & C for the LAS - LGW leg of our trip in September, So its great to hear we should have good seats (and in the bubble). My only worry is that the seat map is not available for that flight anymore, but reading this forum that appears to mean that all the seats available for pre-assigning/requesting are taken. The seat numbers still show under our names in the booking so my fingers are crossed.

This trip is our first in PE and getting quite excited.....[:D].

Same here- we often seem to get moved from 79 A&C and 80 H&K into the exit row for our return! The fact that there is nowhere to store anything in the exit row seats makes them a pain.

Always tempted to make some excuse about not being suitable for the exit row but too scared we may get moved downstairs.

I am shocked. We love the bubble exit row seats, SO much leg room and you get to chat the to CC during taxi (geek part of me coming out). There is the bin to the side still plus the over head locker. I guess this just adds to the argument that everyone is so very different with their likes and dislikes and that whatever VS do they will never please everyone.
