I once read somewhere that all flights arriving from Jamacia always get special attention as the stats for the number of pax drug running on those flights are significantly higher than on any other route.

A friend of mine who works for HM Customs & Excise told me the same thing last year.

You're not wrong about flights from Jamacia getting the attention of Customs officers. Last year I arrived at MAN on VS76, about 10mins after a flight had arrived from Montego Bay. Suffice it to say that people off the Virgin flight from Florida were not getting the attention of the customs officers in the green channel.

I read a similar thread on Trip Advisor last week about flights from Jamaica and customs, apparantly single females coming off MBJ flights are custom officers number 1 target and they are flagged up even before the flight lands. How stupid would you have to be to even attepmt it?! [?]

It's not always stupidity. The reasons can be complex. Desperation, poverty, threats of violence to the carrier and their family, peer pressure etc. etc.
