Maintaining FF Miles

Hi everyone.
I would like to know if there is any way that I can add to my (red) FA without flying.
I doubt I will have a chance to fly by the time my current miles expire - next autumn.
I should be gaining some 8000 or so miles soon as I enrolled 4 people into FC and they are taking their flights next month. Does that mean I will have another 3 years until they expire?

Many thanks

Paul

Any earning or spending activity on the account extends their life for three years. This includes 'miles more friends'.

See herefor a list of earning partners.

The Virgin credit card is a good was to earn & maintain miles. Even if you don't use it day to day if your miles are due to expire you can spend a few £ on it and when the miles credit to your account that renews your expiry date.

Alternatively you can do what we do and spend every possible £ on it rather than by any other means - though I still regret the day they moved to Amex.

I don't know what dom's reasons are, but the general outcry at the time of the change was due to the fact that Mastercard / Visa are accepted in far more places than Amex.

The VS card is still administered by MBNA under an Amex badge, so doesn't enjoy any of the benefits that proper Amex card holders have - especially those who subscribe to the premium cards.

Hi

Surely the easiest way to maintain mileage is to buy 1000 miles for £30. This can be done on line, and as I understand it maintains your mileage balance for another 3 years.

Think of it as £10 per year to maintain miles forever, and also slightly increase your balance as well.....
