Good morning

Long time watcher, first time poster.

Can I just say what a friendly site this is, full of helpful people with an infectious enthusiasm for the VA Brand and flying in general.

Anyhow, I see at the moment VA have some decent PE fares to NY available, my question to you experienced people is, based on previous years when are the the UC sales expected. I want to travel in May 09 and I could book PE now but I fancy turning left.

I just need to make a decision on PE now or hold out for UC. PE does seem a good price, although, it has been slightly lower in the past.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to V-Flyer [y]

Sales often occur around November, then again in December and March. Its hard to say for sure if these sales will include May though. I guess its a case of wait and see. One point though is that given the current economic climate, VS seem to be displaying slightly unusual behaviour and having their sales earlier and for longer periods.

I guess its a case of finding a price that you feel comfortable with and sticking with it. The sale fares to NYC in PE that are available right now are at a rather good price, and for such a short flight if it were me, I'd be tempted to take advantage of these and save the Upper sale fares for another destination as a treat.

Thanks,
Sarah

I agree with HighFlyer - all it would take is for the fuel charges to go up and then you could end up paying more. Strike while the iron is hot (or what ever the saying is) !

Hello and welcome to the forum from another newbie [:D] Is it just NY you are looking at? there is an UC sale on at the moment for Carribean destinations, Hong Kong and Tokyo. I think its a relitavly short flight to NY isnt it? maybe grab the PE seats now and save the UC flight for a trip elswhere so you get maximum 'bang for your buck' type of thing?
