Fuel Surcharge Refund Payments to begin in Nov 08

I got a very prompt response from the Air Passenger Refund email account.

I was told Payments will start in November, and on a rolling basis, so first come first served i would imagine.

In the email it also says that 90 days interest will be added to the payment.

So I expect those of you who jumped on this straight away should expect something in Nov or Dec.

Please refer to the Official Website. https://www.airpassengerrefund.co.uk/

It depends on when you flew and with which airline.

Sorry to dig up this old post (there was also another discussion about this which I can't find now) but there's been a recent update (finally):

quote:10/04/2009 -
The appeals to the Settlements have been voluntarily dismissed by Order of the Court dated 1 April 2009. The processing of payments for approved claims will now begin with first refund payments to be sent out in May 2009.

So payments should start arriving in May [y]

About time too. Now, what about the interest that it has been quietly accruing?

Like many things, I am sure they will taste even better knowing that someone else has paid for them [y] (though in a round-about fashion, you did already pay for them years ago....).

As much as that ?[:?]

I was thinking that with all the flights I had taken over that period for personal flying in FIRST and J I may be able to afford, and only just, a bag of pork scratchings and maybe a pint of RichardMannions favourite tipple i.e diet coke (my local being in Islington means that I wuld have to be VERY LUCKY to receive enough rebate to afford a pint of my pub tipple (wifebeater) [:w])

Hi all

I registered my claim for a passenger refund back in February 2008. Having not paid to much attention to this matter since then, I stumbled across an old link to the air passenger refund web site. I have entered my detail and reference numbers for both my wife and I, but unfortunately the system informs me that my details can be matched. Anyone got any ideas what I should do? Has anyone else experienced this kind of thing?

Cheers [y]

Mmmm, free beer [y]

But you're right, it's only my own money back - though I think there's one trip that work paid for (in the days when I used to travel to proper places for business *sigh*)

LOL - I reckon at 2.70 a pint in my local for Old Speckled Hen, I should at least get my Tuesday poker night intake paid for...

Trev, I had the same problem, as I needed to change my address and the site didn't recognise my reference number.. I emailed them and they replied with:

quote:The reference number that you provided indicates that you registered to be sent a copy of the Claim Form, and have not filed the Claim Form necessary to receive a refund. The claim form was not available until 1 July 2008. Passengers who went on-line prior to that date could not file a claim but instead received a 'Confirmation Number' designed to confirm that a claims packet was sent to you.

You must submit an official Claim Form in order for us to process a refund request. After you file a Claim Form on-line, you will receive a 'Claim Reference Number' that begins with an '800.'

Sure does, I was sat there this morning thinking 'I don't recall been asked for my bank details'. Over an hour later I've finally worked out how many flights I need to claim for (logging in to FC accoutn and looking at the full statement), and submitted claims for me, my friend and my family. Now have a series of claim reference nubmers beginning 800 as stated above.

Try [email protected] however I don't think it did send an email confirmation. It certainly didn't when I submitted a claim last week.

Seems like their timeframe was a little optimistic, from https://www.airpassengerrefund.co.uk/Reminders.aspx

The processing of payments for approved claims is in process -- first refund payments to be sent out beginning 5 June 2009.

They must have changed that this week, as I checked last week and it was still saying May. I checked all 3 of my claims, and they are all recognised on their system, as I submitted mine so late, I am not expecting anything for quite some time.

Harrumpf! I'll believe it when it happens.
