Do you think i should eat at the CH and the Revivals lounge rather then on the flight or would you recommend me sampling the on-board meals?

Do what Tink does:

Have a full meal and drinks in the Clubhouse and then have cheese and biscuits onboard [^]

Yes - and I have always enjoyed the food there (although some mixed reviews).
Definitely eat in the CH rather than onboard - or do both! [:w] at least alight bite... just so I can tell all of you...

Another vote for both, you've paid for it so why not sample a bit of everything!

Ditto for both, washed down with Mojitos in the CH.

Another vote for both, remember, in UC it is the freedom menu, so you can eat later on in the flight if your still a little full from the CH.

Indeed - why is it a choice?

I flew to and from LHR - ORD last November and it was my first time in UC so I wanted to make the most ...

I'd say do BOTH - you're on holiday after all.

On the way out I had

Salmon Bagel, coffee and champers before my shave

Then the full english and some more champers

The long walk to the gate somehow made me peckish and thirsty and to stop any food and drink going to waste (they can't reseal those bottles of champers can they?) I helped them out by eating and drinking on the plane too. Very nice it was too and no one gave me a funny look when I asked for a vodka and champers cocktail.

Tried to do something similar on the way back but unfortunatly there are only snacks (no champers either [:0]) in the ORD lounge but I somehow managed to survive until I boarded.

Eat onboard and in the clubhouse. It works for me. Oh, and don't forget to fill your pockets with the sweets and grab a couple of cold bottles of drink before you board.[y]

Eat in the Clubhouse AND onboard?

I didn't realise my fellow V-Flyers had such big appetites!! [;)]

Me? Well I like to put a rather large lining on my stomach in the Clubhouse before the compulsory onboard refreshment testing....[:w]

I always eat in the CH (I am always there early) and then see what takes my fancy on the menu. It is all part of the experience.....[y]

I eat in both but that's why I'm a fat bugger and not a male model like preiffer (stifles giggles...)
