Just had this drop into my inbox

quote:

Hi Pete

I am currently working on a new BBC1 Saturday show called Tonight's The Night, which is hosted by John Barrowman.

We are looking for groups of colleagues (4 or 5) to perform as a group on this new prime time show. We want to put two different occupations up against each other, such as Nurses vs. Doctors, Travel Agents vs. Cabin Crew and let our audience vote on who they think is the best act of the night.

They will be performing on our stage, in front of a great audience and accompanied by our live band. We guarantee it will be an amazing night!

Whether you're in a band, a choir or a singing group or any other performance act, please do get in touch if you or your colleagues are interested.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes

Katy
Assistant Producer

... and I will state for the record right now that I have no on-stage talent myself, so I can only cheerlead. But perhaps, if there's some talented V-Flyers out there, we could offer a Passengers vs Crew team?

I know a lot of V-Flyers who are artists! I don't somehow think they are the right type of artists for the BBC though. [8D][:o)][:w]

And there was me thinking that Nick was taking the piss... It's an occupational hazard of flying Upper Class, you get tempted with the evils of a bar in the Clubhouse / lounge and then there is another when onboard the aircraft.

As long as you are not driving at your destination - let the artwork commence.

A number of piss artists indeed... [:w]

If it were a quiz show, krypton factor, generation game genre then it may have been a yes, but then I don't think I would be endearing to the British public, and I'm not suitable for pre-watershed viewing.

But then given we are talking about a musical performance, its a big no. And FFS as a TV licence fee payer, do we really need another one of these reality pop idol style contests?

It just sounds like the normal rubbish that's on TV every Saturday night [:w]
