ESTA Resubmitted following advice at Check In

Checked in at the UC desks downstairs, and was advised that as my ESTA had an address in that was not the same as the place I am staying this week I needed to re-submit it.

Anyone know if this is correct ?

I have re-done my ESTA, and got approval, and I will ask when I get to the Immigration officer.

I have got into the habit of updating my ESTA following a trip to reflect my next visit.

Yes, you need to update your application every trip with the details of where you are staying and the new flight.

It states that you don't have to, although the advice on the official site is that it is 'recommended' as it will make your immigration process smoother.

I imagine that once ESTA fully replaced the I-95 Green Waiver Form (which we all want to happen sooner rather than later) then it will be compulsory to update it with flight and accommodation details and the lovely INS officers will ask questions on this

Wish you could see what you had on there already....

This ESTA game is amusing. So I did not right down the approval number, and went back to try and update. Now the issue i had was that there is no way to check the one you submitted previous without your code. I emailed the ESTA folks and 10 days later got a response to start from scratch as this would overwrite the previous one. WRONG, wont work. So now its an interesting game of what and see what happens ;-)

I feel sorry for the person at immigration in front of me, who had travelled without getting it done, they were handing out 100$ penalty fines in orlando ...great start to the vacation

That does work; I did the exact same thing as I had lost my number. Submitted the details again and was given a new number. No hassle at all.

I submitted the details again, got instant approval. When I got to SFO, I just asked what I needed to do, and all that is required is to update the address details, which means making a note of the ESTA application number, which I have not done !

I did get asked why I travel every month to the US. Although I've not been here for around 7 months for business.
