Headset adapters required on 346?

Hi All,

I'm flying in Y from SYD->LHR on VS201 this Christmas. I've read on various posts that it is possible to use your own earphones/headsets with the IFE - however, I'm unclear on whether I would need an adapter for this or will my 'normal (ipod)' headphones work directly?

Many thanks,

Jason.

I have always found my own headphones have worked with the standard jack in the relevant socket.

Standard 'ipod' style headphone plugs work on the 340-600.

I did the LHR-HKG-SYD in Y at xmas a couple of years ago. Good luck; it's a slog in Y [n], and definitely worth trying to get an exit row seat if you can. Don't forget, you can check in at LHR from 06:00'ish, drop your bags off, get an exit row seat and return in the evening for the flight[y].

Thanks vizbiz, I'm thinking now it might be worth investing in some fancy noise-reduction headphones to make the journey a litle easier...

I've done the trip to the UK in Y (SYD-SIN-MAN) a few times with SIA but this will be my first time with VS. Unfortunately, I won't be able to get to LHR early so the exit row seat is probably out. I did some research and have requested seats 61 A and C which apparently give a *little* more space on the 346 - not sure if this is accurate or not?

Cheers,

Jason.

Money invested in noise-reduction headphones is a good idea. You are looking at ~48 hours on a plane.

Oh and a really good eye cover.

As been said by others, ipod headphones plug straight in and no adaptors are needed. Becareful of the volume though, the very first time you use it using the ipod headphones would be very loud.
