Redundant Crew off to Thomson?

Just seen on cc.com that the crew that Virgin have made redundant have been offered a temp summer job with Thomson, no interview needed! The TOM crew seem a tad miffed because they are underworked at the moment and are not getting the trips etc that they want, and now the VS crew are coming in and choosing what base they want and everything. It also seems TOM missed counted the number of crew they needed for this years summer! Apparently a surge in bookings has prompted extra flights and now there is a lack of crew!
Excellent news for VS crew getting at least some money all be it only 3 months!
Did I miss the redundancy announcement? I new it was being considered but didnt know it had actually happened.
