OMG it does feel a long time ago! Those were the days eh [y]

I really did love that cabin everything was so well made and classy.

I remember my first time sitting at that big bar like yesterday. It really was a great place to hang and meet/make friends, had some real good times.

There's a picture of it somewhere with Mr Long lounging around it, on a site that used to do meal reviews, maybe I can dig it out ...

Ah, yes. The 747-400 bar from the J2000 era. That took some beating, with it's excellent view of goings on in the cabin, the cake stand, bowls with chocolates, and a whopping 7 bar stools.

I think those pics are from the training rig down in Crawley, but it's lovely to reminisce. It even had Ten, too. Happy days.

Thanks Mike, exactly as I recall. Better days, better flights, more memories. Sad to say that it's not the same anymore [:#].

I remember the old bar from J2000 as well; makes me smile thinking about it

I still think it was such a step change from the norm, and brought a little of the old romance of travel back. Don't get me wrong, Im not turning my nose up at the new bars, they just don't have the flair the old ones used to - but thats so true of much onboard these days....

Check picture 008 on this site. Also 65-66 with Mr Long standing at an old 340 bar.

Some of those dishes sure look tasty and are well presented [y]

If only we could 'turn back the hands of time ...'

It's painful- I had forgotten how much has gone!

We ought to archive these pics for sure. Just looking at some of the cheese plates, thinking of 5 years ago, and today, is pretty sad .... notwithstanding the excellent pics of Mr Long.
