Anyone else received the same? I passed 60 TPs a while ago but very nice nonetheless and can be given to friends or family, flying in any cabin as long as its VS and independently.

That was one of the things which was suggested as an additional reward in a FC Gold survey I did a few months back. It doesn't cost VS much, and is a nice gesture.

Hope it is the start of a VS campaign to keep the loyalty of those who pay for UC tickets on a regular basis.

Thinking about it, UA had quite a nice implementation of a 'between tiers' loyalty system, whereby when you reach an intermediate target, they notify you - you go online, and there is a list of things you can choose from, such as bonus miles, gifting miles, upgrades, lounge passes, gifting 'Associate' status (the equivalent of a FC Supplementary Silver) to a friend, United-branded schwag, that sort of thing.

Then the person can choose what sort of additional reward is the most relevant to them.

That is a nice gift, like others have said it is good that VS keep an eye out for their frequent travellers and reward them, it is something like this that will retain repeat business.

Elite Choice. Hugely devalued this year, a recognition that many folks will be lucky to reach 1K this year, let alone pass it, and that free flowing biz travel's gone and there aren't likely to be a lot of pressures to be between Prem Exec and 1K.

The Prem Associate used to be something you got to do when you reached 35k miles, now it's 125k - understandable as it's actually quite easy on United to get 35k miles a year, and you basically create a whole population of folks with access to E+ seating, special check in and security lanes.

That said, it's a well intentioned idea, like you all say, and I can certainly see the benefits of VS structuring a program up front telling people what tier levels they need to hit, and what the reward is, both between 30 and 100, and beyond 100.

I certainly got nothing at 100 TPs with Virgin but a nice suprise at 120 ! Yss you guessed it - a Silver Card (all sorted out now - thankfully !)

BA have a Gold Card Guest List and the invitation to join is variable depending on spend - class of tickets, civ score etc. It is a nice sweeter for those who are not Premiers (and these have a bizzare entrance scheme ime).

Ah, that'll be why the formerly calm and quick to navigate domestic Premier check-ins had long queues that seemed to be filled with people who travel once a year, last year.

Well, quite. Not to mention the fact that they are now basically selling Prem Associate benefits on a one-off basis. You know, before we get too excited and anoint US airlines as the next best thing. [;)]

Yes, I have a couple from PAMS too, so four in all, now where could they be used [:w]
