2006 - AMEX gold card 50K miles joining offer

Does anyone remember this offer?
Did anyone take AMEX up on it, and get their miles.
I am currently in a battle with AMEX because they didn't credit my miles (yes I know I should have realised earlier!!)
I can't find anything about it though, no paperwork/website etc to back up my claim

can anyone help, or at least tell me this offer did occur and I'm not going mad!!

I (and lots of others here) did . The offer was 20,000 miles not 50,000.

well what can I say - thanks to some selfless involvement from one of the customer services managers at AMEX, I have just got the 20K miles credited to my account. Well played them!
