Hi, can anyone tell me why Virgin have changed type on LHR-MIA route from A346 to 744? Is this seasonal or permanent? Thanks

Hi and welcome to V-Flyer.

MIA is being operated by a 744 until about the 24th October, it is a route that is operated by both types of a/c.

Just to add, until Mid September the Tues/Wed/Thurs flight is still being operated by an A346

I recently booked April 2010 LHR - MIA and the type was a 744, is this likely to be changed I wonder?

Probably not. MIA is operated by a 747 for about half of the year (usually the summer months) and then it changes later in the year, Oct/Nov time to a A346 for a few months, so your April flight could well be once the change back has been made again.

Of course, all a/c types are subject to change, depending on what VS ops decide.
