Does the VS44 (LAS - LGW) return as the VS43 (LGW - LAS)?

I noticed that today the VS44 was 1 hr and 13 mins late into LGW and the VS43 was over 2 1/2 hrs late leaving and as a novice I am not familiar with the LGW fleet

Thanks

At times yes, but it is rare, it's been a while since I have tracked the LGW flights, but let me see if I can spot a pattern.

edit: Bugger, I forgot the feed is down, so I can't look, sorry.

A quick look at the Heathrow and Gatwick Airports Movement website shows that by and large the incoming VS16 from MCO is the plane that goes out as VS43 to LAS.

And the other November, the aircraft that operated the VS44 LAS-LGW the day before my return flight from MCO then operated the VS27 LGW-MCO, then the VS76 MCO-MAN that I was on (judging by the VS44 boarding pass that was still inbetween my seat cushions).

There is no set pattern of rotation for the LGW/MAN fleet. Sure, you can make guesses from past rotation patterns, but all you need is a very late aircraft somewhere and VS Ops can change the planned rotation pattern at short notice. It's fair to say that the fleet is generally rotated at LGW & MCO, as these are the two bases that recieve 744's from multiple destinations. (Whilst MAN is a base, they only send the 744's to MCO, so not a lot of rotation options there!)
