Starting NOV 18th with service to LAX and SFO.

I am a semi happy Scrooge, LAS would be better, but I can make it work.

Excellent news. Obviously done to meet the cruise market.

BOS - FLL would also be nice, [:I] but it is good to see they are still expanding in these difficult times.

Now that was a shock.

All the rumours and industry analysts have all been saying MIA would be the next station for VX.

Of course VX avoids directly any competition with AA by selecting FLL.

As Darren points out, clearly they are aiming for the O&D market rather than the connections market which is MIA's specialism.

I'm sure this is partly the reason, also VX was looking into SFO/LAX-MIA but MIA is apparently a notoriously expensive airport in terms of fees (and a notorious airport too!). FLL shares a lot of the same catchment area to the north of Miami and SFO-FLL is a big pink pound (or dollar) route.

I also saw, over on a.net that Vancouver and Toronto may be routes soon added, see here. Which is more really good news. Down the line, if with the A333s Vancouver is on the VS network, one could easily do LHR-SFO-YVR-LHR, a very nice trip too [y].

Vancouver makes perfect sense. A short hop after the SEA flight.
