Hi all,
I am flying UC to and from JNB in Dec. I need to book a domestic flight on SAA to get to JNB for my return flight and was wondering if there is some way to get this new booking on the same booking reference as my VA flight. Is this possible? If so, should I:
1. Book directly with SAA and then call VA to give them by SAA reference
2. Call VA and book the flight through them
Many thanks

I don't think you can add other flights to an existing booking. I tried to get VS to add some internal flights in the US to a UC booking I already had, but they said they couldn't do it. Give FC a call beforehand but I think you will get a similar response that I got.

if you book it separately then you cannot add it to your VS flight. Equally I do not think that Virgin allows your booking on SAA to be done by them once your VS flight has been ticketed. For it to be included it must be booked at the same time.
Having said that, when I wanted to book an on-going flight to DUR it came out so expensive that the lady in Premier suggested I book separately. The price that was being quoted was the full fare price on SAA [:0] There was no problem of getting the miles. They were added very quickly to my FC account

It is impossible to truly 'link' a flight after one is booked. Notes can be added in but they are not always read by the check-in agent as they don't always come into their view screen unless booked all in one go. For miles accrual, give the SAA agent your FC number and keep the boarding passes too. They will get added but not always automatically. For baggage through checking, they generally won't do it on separate bookings due to financial responsibilty if something happens to the bags.
