Hi,
Flying to Miami next week and then on to Ft Myers. The Departure time for the flight is 17.25pm. Reading so many horror stories about Miami Airport is there any valuable advice anyone can offer to make it as stress free as possible.

[?]Does this give me plenty of time?
[?]Will i need to reclaim my luggage?
[?]If i buy duty free will i be able to take in on connecting flight?
That's a few thing that are concerning me but all hints and tips will be appreciated![:D]

Thanks in advance,
Alison.

Yes it should give you enough time, provided the flight from London is not delayed.I wouldn't call it plenty of time, but it is a legal transfer. Is the flight on the same reservation ?

Yes you will need to claim your luggage and go through customs as Miami is your port of entry into the US.

That depends, you don't say who your flying to Ft Myers with, if I am remembering correctly, there are some airlines you have to go land side to transfer to, if so then the liquids rules will apply.

Hi,
Sorry, yes the flight is on the same ticket and is with American Eagle.
If we have to go landside is it a long way?(i have a back problem and walking a long distance could take some time)
would we be able to put any thing we have bought in our cases when we reclaim them?

Thanks again [oo]
Alison

Yes you will have to reclaim your cases after you have been through immegration.

Once you have cleared customs then you should put your duty free in your cases before going to the desks foe the 'new' airline.

You can also ask for help in getting to the AA terminal, those little buggies are fun to ride and save a lot of time.

You should be able to recheck your bags with AA on the other side of the customs hall at the baggage recheck counter - stick your duty frees in your cases before handing them back over!
