I am looking to go to the Florida Keys next year so out of boredom tonight i've priced up all cabins for both Virgin and BA, and surprise surprse, they are both exactly the same price in all three cabins, down to the last penny!

I'm sure they'd call it 'price matching' similar to the high street travel agents but it is damn suspicious to me

I agree with Darren, price fixing is a very risky strategy in today's corporate governance climate.

I for one am more than happy for price matching as without it, we would not see as many sales on VS[:w]

Or as Adam Smith might put it, the 'invisible hand' has resulted in equal pricing for a service. However, sales run counter intuitive to Smith's belief that the real price of everything is in the toil to get it!

John Lewis group employs a group of price matching researchers so that their 'never knowingly undersold' slogan can remain true. These folk go out into their locale and research other retailers prices of goods, if they find a product priced lower than in a JL store, they match it.

Rather than suspicious, you may be surprised at how common this.

I am not surprised at this at all. If you are in any business and you don't know what your competitors prices are you may as well pack up and go home. It is a fundamental requirement.
