I filled out the Esta form ages ago for my family, but I understand its only valid for 2 years, how do I know when I need to renew it. I cant remember when I did it. Is there a way of checking for how much longer they are valid?

If you log in using your application number, it tells you when it expires.

Yes they are only valid for 2 years. You would only need to renew (well apply again) if you are planning a further trip to the US - the best time to do this is when you are planing it and you have flight detailes etc.

They are used to people forgetting the number so I dont think it would be a problem for you just to re-apply (using the official website and not a scam one)

You really need to keep you application numbers as you need to log-in and update your accommodation/flight details every time you visit the US.

If you don't have them, just start a new application.

Good idea to keep the applications well in advance - they are going to start charging for this service sometime soon ;-)

But if you make a new application every year, you will always have at least one year before the charge will apply [}:)]

Wouldn't half make it easier if they emailed the original application number when you first apply. Then you can keep updating.
