See here. Best transatlantic airline and best European-based airline. Shortlisted for airline of the year too.

Some dodgy things in some of the categories though ...

How on earth did Heathrow get 'Highly Commended' for Best Airport?????

Note to judges. There are 4 other terminals as well as T5.

plus you could say there are 5 in total - T1, T3, T4, T5a, T5b and soon to be T5c. I have to say I think LHR IS a good airport given the T5 empire lifts the standard so much.

Some MORE aviation awards, how many different awards are there for airlines?!

Interesting that CO won best business class ahead of some very good competition.

Boy has that caused some comment on other forums! A colleague of mine has recently done the unthinkable and switched from VS to CO for all short notice travel. to the East Coast of the US. PE to NY is now 1,900+ and Business First on CO is around 2,100 if booked within a week (W fare PE). VS's fares are something shocking. He says it's a world better for only a little more and raves about the dining onboard and the general service even if the BG seat is no UCS (but will soon be a flat bed!).

CO is getting new seats in the biz cabin, though I am amongst those that actually prefers the current seat because it can kind of cradle.

The food on CO is superior to anything VS has serve in years.

As with most of these awards, it's based on straight numbers, so the US airlines will have an advantage just given their huge FF base.

I do find it funny that LHR can be voted the worst and one of the best in the same year though.

Ah T5 - Where my luggage and I are destined never to see each other for an extended period.
