Extras basket RIP

There was no sign of the extras basket last night (I thought I'd missed it when changing in the loo). The FM came around the cabin and introduced herself to everyone([y] as it was full) so I asked if I'd missed it when in the loo .No she replied, it's gone ( as in RIP). What say I ? Temporarily/ part of the reported trial ? No she replies. Gone. Forever. I've flown with her before and she's an excellent no nonsense hardworking FSM.
She went off and got the items I wanted [y](she had some stuff still left). She wasn't too impressed with the notion either.
VS need to get a grip. This penny pinching is just becoming tedious [V].

Well that's still on the
website ...
What a shame ... so now Y and W PAX get pens but not UC.

There's a hint of something to come in GJ's bar chat...

Are the items still available on demand, or have the extra been totally removed ?

To be honest, the removal of the basket being brought round doesn't worry me too much. Stick it on the bar and let people help themselves. As long as it's known where to look, on the menu would be a good place.

Nah it hasn't gone - I had it comfirmed by a few Virgin seniors that came to my charity 'do' last Saturday. We had a long debate about the UC product.

Hmmm [:?]The FSM was very clear it had gone completely. I asked her very specifically if this was now permanent and not part of the trial that's been discussed and she replied in the affirmative. The bits she got were the dribs and drabs that were left and once these were gone she stated that they were not being replenished.
I'll see what the score is next week on my return trip.

If the basket had gone completely then there wouldn't be anything (not even dribs or drabs) onboard the aircraft.
