Has anyone noticed that sick-bags seem to have been removed from seat pockets?

So what do pax do in extremis ?[:$]

Use the seat pocket?
Use the lap of the person next and suggest they claim compensation from VS?

At the moment VS seem to expect the CC to deal with it....where-ever.

I noticed this on my recent flights and I did have the same thought (especially as I went through a phase when I was 13-15 of throwing up each time I flew). There were a bunch in the magazine rack by the toilets in economy but not much use if you didn't get there in time.

Surely with how few of these are used they wouldn't really have to spend much on ever replacing them?

This just sounds like a stupid move to me, a pax vomits on the seat in front of them would cost far more to take care off than a plane load of sickness bags.

Remember, vomiting is highly contagious row-to-row

Travelling ex UK I once saw somebody resort to using their economy amenity kit bag.

There was one in my seat last week.

Check ebay! I think that was the problem. The actual need was few and far between but I think a lot of people take them as a memento or to sell.

I am sure those prone to sickness can request them when boarding, however I do feel a little for those who get taken unexpectedly, especially during turbulence when everyone is strapped in and the crew won't come to your seat.

However with all that said; anyone could get sick anywhere, at home, in a car, on a bus, in the high street and there obviously aren't sick bags in all of these locations (I have seen a few buses with them). So it obviously one of these things we have become accustomed to but is there a real need? If cuts need to be made (and I think it is an unfortunate fact that they do) wouldn't you rather this, than perhaps something else going?

As I say, with all that said I do feel for those unfortunate enough to have a need for one during a flight.

and for both those around them and the CC who have to deal with the consequences.

They haven't been removed, it's just a case of the cleaners not doing their jobs and replacing them in seat pockets. If they're not there let the crew know so it can be written up and reported.

We had them on our recent flight back from New York, but on the way out the only things in the seat pocket were the safety card and shopping magazine.

There was no inflight entertainment magazine either. We weren't the only ones as I saw other people requesting them from the crew.
