How does this work exactly? If you book one, can you decide a pick-up time or is that something automatically done by Virgin? I'm wondering if they try to restrict the amount of time you spend in the clubhouse.

Also - I know there is no clubhouse in Miami, so which lounge is in use instead? What's it like????

Sorry everyone, just found on the VS site that it's Club America's lounge that's used. Still interested to know what your views on it are though!

I've only had one CDC off Virgin, but when I called to book it, I just gave them my pickup address and they told me what the collection time would be (assume their booking system tells them). I asked for this to be half an hour earlier then the suggested time and this was no problem.

VS and its car services around the world will have a minimum recommended time for pick up and will automatically suggest that. So at Heathrow, for example, they'll aim to have you up the ramp 2 hrs before the flight is scheduled. You can set the pick up earlier, if you want to spend more time at the airport say without any problem, and you can also set it later. If the latter, you will normally be asked to confirm that if you miss your flight for any reason, it is your responsibility and not the car firm's!

The lounge at MIA is ok. It's self service with all drinks and a few snacks, sandwiches and some soup, free wifi, papers etc. Nothing amazing but better than sitting with the masses downstairs.
