V-Flyer

I have bought 5 return UC tickets on VS5/6 in March. They are non flexible, non changeable tickets.

It may be that I will only use the the return sectors. If this is the case and I do not show up for the outbound will I automatically lose my seats on VS6 (return).

Yes you will void your second leg of the flight if you no-show for the first flight leg.

Miss you outbound flight and your inbound flight gets cancelled automatically.

All flight legs must be used in the order they where issued. All airlines have this rule I think.

The only thing you are able to do is fly out on the first leg but not use the return leg, or last flight leg if there's more than 2 (and even then the airlines don't particularly like pax doing this too often)

Normal practice is that if you miss the outbound leg of the flight, the return leg is automatically cancelled too.

Having said that, others have missed the outbound and had no problem using the return...

ok thanks, i'm sure BA cancel if you no show for the first sector.

darren, do you think the others that missed the outbound were lucky or had a valid reason ????

So maybe the people who it has not happened to used this clause and not had their return trip cancelled.

BUT it could also be that non flexible tickets have slightly different rules.

However, I dont think planning on doing it is totally fair as it stops other pax being able to get lower priced tickets though I do accept that it does happen for limited, valid reasons.

thanks for this tontybear, I will call them and seek clarity if this applies to the non flex tickets also.. No chance I will take the risk of just not showing up without calling them first. did that with ba and it cost me a fortune

From memory one of the v-flyers (maybe Howard Long or jaguarpig - forgive me guys if I'm mistaken) has advised VS in advance on a couple of occassions and not encountered any problems. Although I can't remember the fare code they were travelling on.

I tried to do a search for the thread for you but to no avail.
