About time too. I thought it was strange that a Gold card holder couldn't get into a Virgin Blue lounge unless they had just come off VS200 that day

Many thanks for posting this, Penny. [^][oo]

Assuming I get to the airport early enough in the morning, I will give this a try in melbourne tomorrow and report back.

That is very good to learn. About time Virgin Group started to work properly on cross-airline benefits in the global operation.

Next step, FC miles on VX [y] (I hope).

So, as an Ag VS FC member, I'll be able to use PE check-in when I take an Economy Virgin Blue MEL-SYD flight in May?.....

still curios as to why no miles from the various programs. The lack of milage between virgin atlantic and virgin america keeps me on US airways

Got here early enough, but lounge is in Domestic terminal - we are in International. [:#] Oh well! Maybe next time. [;)]

There were 10 economy check in desks open this morning and no PE desks!

PE doesn't seem very popular on Virgin Blue or Pacific Blue, in our limited experience.

Thanks for the info. Now if they could do the same with Virgin America...

As an addendum to the above, I am currently sat in the Qantas 'Wild at Heart' lounge at Wellington, and very nice it is too! Sandwiches, cakes, beer, wine and a good selection of hot drinks and soft drinks. Free wi-fi and lots of very comfortable seating.

We are flying Pacific Blue to Sydney and I weny up to the priority check-in, showed my VS Au card and the agent there was lovely. Not only did she let us use the priority check, but she gave me a lounge pass and moved us both to row 2 with a spare seat between us - excellent service, and a great benefit of the card. [y]

Thanks again for the heads up, Penny.

Wish this was in force in August last year, could have done with lounge access.

Nice move though.

Tip for everyone: have a copy of these benefits to hand when next checking in on VA as I saw none of them on my recent trip, despite providing my Gold Card to check-in staff in both LA and Brisbane. However it would make Gold status worthwhile just to avoid a 2+ hour check-in queue at LAX. 4 hours before scheduled departure...

I did a couple of domestic Virgin Blue flights last week and the check in (automated) and baggage drop/claim was not a problem. I'm only Ag but with a short flight from Sydney to Adelaide I probably wouldn't have had time to use a lounge although I appreciate this is much more relevant on longer flights. I thought Virgin Blue offered a good service and value for money even in economy.

Totally agree Jacki - was very impressed with the whole Virgin / Pacific Blue set up. Will hopefully get round to doing a some TRs soon.
