Yay!
I managed to upgrade to AU today (so awesome

) and am installed in the LHR Clubhouse awaiting the departure of VS017 - currently 2:30 behind schedule.
I didn't even expect to be in hear today, let alone for more than 20 minutes - time to sample the cocktails. and the food. but mostly the cocktails.
However, I am all alone, so if any v-flyers are around and want a drinking partner come find me - I'm the girl with the bright red hair sat by the Den end of the Bar. Just ask if I'm Emma!

Buy me a J ticket and I'll be right there [:D]
Enjoy your time there and the flight.

Ah, J tickets. I've only flown J one one segment, ever - just lots and lots and lots of Y and L!

Crikey, that's going to get in really late. Even when it's on time that gets in at about 11pm or so as I recall. Hmm, on the other hand good timing it you want a sleep.
Cheers, H

VS17 running late is the worst, as although your body wants to sleep it's a really bad idea. It would be like sleeping all night and waking up at 1AM... I like to stay awake, at most snooze a little, and then sleep really well when I arrive in NYC and switch straight into their timezone.
Oh well. All worked out OK - extra fuel and extra speed from the pilot caught up lots of the missed time and landed only 90 minutes late.

So with you on that Emma!
I think that getting a late afternoon flight to the US is the best way to go, then you don't have to keep yourself awake for several hours once you've arrived.
You arrive mid-evening, just flop into bed at a 'fairly normal' time for the timezone you're in, and usually sleep straight through - no waking up at 2/3am!
I hate arriving around lunchtime and then having to be awake for another 9-10 hours.

I find a few post-flight cocktails helps on that score. [:)]

I always think one of the worst things about VS17 being late is that it seems to be one of the (if not the) last planes in of the night. I feel the immigration guys are even grumpier than normal, and if your late flight means they have to stay at work another 2 hours, hanging around doing nothing till VS17 gets in.....

I hope VS17 isn't delayed on 22nd May -- I intended being in the air and oblivious to a possible Man Utd or Chelsea CL final victory. The Clubhouse would seem less attractive if there were jubilant Man U fans about.

I think I'd rather be in Starbucks, drinking a skinny latt and sat on a stool with rusty nail sticking out of it.
Ah, where's GJ when you need him...?
