So VS is going to go head to head with BA and AC, that's a smart move.

YVR was mooted when the purchase of the 787 was announced.

And the A333!

Originally YVR was discussed with SEA.

I wonder if SEA may also be a possibility or do they think that they are close enough to be served by one route?

What does this do to rumours that the A333s will have no J and will be based at LGW?

SEA would be good as there is only 1 direct flight a day now with BA

Are the VX flights SFO-SEA timed for connection from the VS019? Problem is, VS and VX can't be seen to collude can they but I wonder whether there's enough O&D traffic for VS to sustain SEA?

As for Heathrow, there's still the slots question, where are these going to come from for expansion? So if the A333s replace some A343 routes, then some must have J, otherwise they'll be heading out from LGW, MAN or GLA?

Given the companies based in the SEA area, including Boeing I would have thought a non-J aircraft is missing a huge market.

No the damn things are not, I'm flying United instead next month as a result.

Must say I thought I was going to have to do UA SFO-LAS next Friday, but I discovered an earlier flight vx1914 unadvertised other than on the VX website with a near perfect connection with vs19. Bummer was that you can't seem to book vs/vx on the same pnr, something I was hopinng to do In case of a delayed vs19. We shall see.

Cheers, H
