Hi,

Does anyone know what films will be showing in March.

Particularly interested in LGW to LAS

Thanks
Andy

LGW-LAS flights are generally operated by 744's fitted with either the Odyssey or Nova entertainment system. Once in a blue moon you might find an LHR 744 fitted with the V-Port system on the LAS route.

VS only publish the full list of movies that are showing on the aircraft fitted with V-Port. The list for March is here. On Odyssey and Nova aircraft, a selection of movies from that list will be available. Sadly I've only flown on V-Port aircraft recently, as otherwise I'd more than happily copy the list of movies down for you.

On the Virgin facebook site some months ago, they did say that they would start to publish nova and odyssey films on the website, but nothing has happened. [n]

I think the old systems are the poor relations that no one at Crawley likes to mention in public. [:w]

When you fly four or more times a month, the recent selection of films on V:Port has been dull and repetitive. At least this month there are a few more interesting, but a good 4/5 are still the same as January ... or even before.

I can tell you some of the the Odyssey films from flights this week, I clearly cant remember them all but hopefully will give you some sort of indication:

UK to USA:

All About Steve
Twilight (the second one)
The Blind Side
Amelia
Couples Retreat
Fantastic Mr Fox
The Informant
taking Woodstock
Up in the Air

USA to UK:
The men who stare at goats
Alvin and the Chipmunks
Case 39
An Education
Invention of Lying
A serious Man
Carriers

That is not them all there are 12 movies per flight but those are the ones I can remember.

My husband did take a note outbound and inbound last week, his notes vary a bit to above but he listed:-

UK-USA

UP IN THE AIR
THE BLIND SIDE
COUPLES RETREAT
AMORED
TWILIGHT NEW MOON
ME AND ORSON WELLES
ASTRO BOY
THE BOYS ARE BACK
WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE
THE INFORMANT

USA-UK

ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS 2
A SERIOUS MAN
THE MAN WHO STARED AT GOATS
PRECIOUS - A NOVEL BY SAPPHIRE
CASE 39
FANTASTIC MR FOX
CARRIERS
AMELIA
TAKING WOODSTOSCK
AN EDUCATION
THE INVENTION OF LYING

He's usually pretty accurate but I take no responsibility for any mistakes and I flew out in February and not returned yet.

Half won't be viewable as the tapes are so worn that you'll give up watching though.

Unlike the 'improvements' that are announced two years upfront....

Certainly the invention of lying was not working last night because of worn tapes!

I assume the tapes are a replaceable part though, so why are they so bad?

Yes I would agree. I did think it was the actual tape player itself however on our outbound flight a couple of the tv channels were switched due to worn tapes. Rather worrying when you consider I flew at the start of the month!
