Problem with new v-flyer (only kidding)

Actually there is a problem with iPhone version of the new v-flyer - it is too easy to use/ navigate/ interact with and follow.
I will have to seek counselling in how to curb this new addiction otherwise after a while there will be no more job, wife or kids. Actually, after reading that back it doesn't sound too bad.
Thanks Pete

Mostly iUI - with a bit of custom hacking to make certain bits work

Is it possible to get to the iphone version directly? I'm wondering if it will work on my Nexus One ...

if you can tell me what browser string the Nexus identifies itself as, I could add it to the detector so you can try it out.

Pete,
It reports itself as:
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.1-update1; en-gb; Nexus One Build/ERE27) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/530.17

Ok. Probably won't get a chance to do that tonight, but will look at it after the weekend. In the meantime you can try
http://www.v-flyer.com/iphone.htm (or v-flyer.webeditors.co.uk/iphone.htm if you haven't switch DNS yet). Only the toolbar options will work without me changing the browser sniffer, but at least you'll be able to see if the iPhone version is going to work for your Android.

Pete,
It looks like it might 'just work'

Certainly most of the things that appear to be special for the iphone appear to do exactly the right thing.
Lovely work!

I think the Android uses the same Apple WebKit as the basis for the browser, so hopefully good to go.

I hate to resurrect an old thread, but my Windows Mobile phone used to get the iPhone version too, until I recently upgraded to Opera Mobile 10 final (Opera 10 beta 2 worked like a charm for some reason).
I've tried the URLs above, and v-flyer.net, but when I browse to the forum I get re-directed to the desktop version - which works, but Opera can be a bit slow rendering things, doesn't like the log-in screen one bit, and occasionally gets the links a bit mussed.
Is there any other URL I could go to? FWIW, my user agent is Opera/9.80 (Windows Mobile; WCE; Opera Mobi/WMD-50433; U; en) Presto/2.4.13 Version/10.00
TIA
Drew

I'm out today, but should be able to add that user agent when I get onto the code tomorrow.

And here is another one for you Pete:
Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.1-update1; en-gb; HTC Desire Build/ERE27) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/530.17
Thanks
PS oooh er, I have just noticed it is the same as Crispin's, apart from phone model. Good old HTC.

This actually isn't working for me currently - I get some pages (such as the community in the iphone mode, but the main forum is coming up normally)...
Also, (I hate to sounds like I'm complaining - I'm not) - if I end up at a group page (e.g. via the link the PM you sent me Pete), I get an error:
Fatal error: Class 'CommunityViewIphoneGroups' not found in /home/customer/www/v-flyer.com/public_html/components/com_community/libraries/core.php on line 299

One little thing I have found with the iPhone version is that I have to press the back button twice to go back one page.

Links meant for the 'full' version of the site probably won't work in the iPhone version, as the two are handled very differently

Just to add to what I posted earlier, I have just downloaded the Opera browser for the iPhone. It detects the iPhone version but you only have to press to back button once to go back a page unlike the twice on the Safari browser.
The Opera app is very quick for browsing BTW!
