It has been a 747 for some time now and is due to change to a 346 on March 28 when the summer schedules come into place. Last night's flight was due to be on G-VWOW - a 747. I can only assume it went tech.

I hope there's no knock-on effect. I'm due to fly out on VS601 tomorrow night

This happened to us on VS601 in 2008. We were informed en-route to LHR that there was a 12 hour delay until the next morning. When we got to LHR we were taken to the desks to the left of the check-in and given details of the hotel VS were putting us up in for the night.

We were given two different reasons for the delay - one being that the aircraft went tech and the second that the incoming plane allocated to VS601 that day was due in too late to turn around and get the 601 out in time.

Either way, I complained and VS gave us both 25k miles. On the plus side, when the flight eventually left it was virtually empty :D
