Now the Virgin America seem to be joining even more dots with Virgin Atlantic destinations, do you think we will ever see tier points / miles for VS customers flying on VA, or do you think the powers the be will continue to stamp their feet and say no to any form of tie-up.

Could make for some interesting mileage runs

It will certainly be interesting to see what happens. Somehow I can't see it happening for a while, after all, IIRC, one of the major gripes that the legacy carriers had was over potential tie ups with VS. I am sure someone such as Scrooge will have a good knowledge on this subject but to be perfectly honest, given how long it took for DJ to get FC partner status, I doubt we will see VX anytime soon.

A little people pressure might help ... I do believe it will happen, even the VX first CEO (the one who came from AA, can't remember his name), said it would happen.

The problem is, and has been, what inference the FAA take from a FF tie-up in terms of the ownership structure of VX, but given that they passed a further FAA investigation on this not so long ago, that may well be overcome.

We'll have to wait and see, frankly, I choose other airlines because of this - building up a pot of non-much-usable Elevate miles isn't much use to me.

The only thing I have heard is that it may happen when the next stage of the Bermuda III treaty kicks in, what that has to do with the FF programs I have no idea, but give me a couple of days and I will do some reading.

Would be great to see them link up. If VX is granted then why not let V Australia in on the act? 8D

V Australia's Velocity and Flying Club are already partners.

I wonder what V Australia will do with Virgin America, since they code share and partner with Delta currently ...
