If anyone is in the US tonight, the premiere of Fly Girls (following the crew of Virgin America) is showing on the CW channel.

Hopefully it'll be on AppleTV - thanks to iTunes Gift Cards purchased in the States, I have my box tuned into the US version of the iTunes Store.

It looks like it's going to be fake and scripted - I don't think it'll last.

Did any of the US members on here see this last night?

OK have just downloaded it and watched it myself and quite frankly, it is the biggest load of rubbish ever. If you came across the programme just by channel hopping, you wouldn't know that if had anything to do with an airline as there was just an odd mention and a few shots of the A320's taking off or the girls walking through a terminal. If anyone has ever had the misfortune to see "The Hills" on US TV, the programme is so similar to this, it is unbelievable.

Take one "crash pad" in Marina Del Rey where they all "live" (though in reality could never afford to) and then show them out at every party in LA.

I don't see this programme lasting.

It was hysterical - exactly like Sky's 'Mile High' only with a real airline and worse actors! I give it a month.

It is horrible, I am amazed VX would allow themselves to be shown in this way.

We have just watched the first 9 minutes and had to turn it off. Luke was convinced it was a joke/spoof programme, surely VX don't see this as promoting them in a good way?

Of course the ultimate reality airline programme was 'The High Life' which featured one of Air Scotia's aircraft and her dedicated crew ...

I remember that one - excellent programme y) y)

I do seem to recall the pilot, who always looked to be eslewhere :w

Based on what has been said here so far, I suspect that VX have taken the view any publicity is good publicity and the prospect of "meeting" the girls may tempt some to book with VX ):

I haven't watched this yet- will try to at the weekend. However having just googled it (and incidentally see another tosh article by the Daily Mail on the programme) it seems to be well and truly aimed at the young teenage girls who watch Laguna Beach, the Hills and the City on MTV. So not really any surprise that VF members who have watched it have not enjoyed it at all.

Just watched it. Mind you, blink and you'll miss it at only 20 minutes.

Bizarre kind of format. Not sure that portraying cabin crew as dumb airheads only interested in partying and using their shifts to pick up passengers is doing Virgin America any favours. I'd be much happier with a crew who'd had an early night before their shift, so they're on top form on the aircraft.

I wouldn't waste 20mins of your life Will. I can watch anything even slightly aviation based and enjoy it normally, however this was just c**p.

I totally agree with Pete, it doesn't give a good impression to pax about the crew and their intentions whilst they are meant to be looking after you.

Wow. I'm now wondering about checking out who else to fly with instead of these people.

3 minutes and I had to turn it off.

"In Flight Boyfriend" :$ :$ :$ :$ :$ :$ :$

What the hell were they thinking allowing this? It really doesn't inspire me come the SFO-LAS flight in May.

I noticed the de-badged 747's in the opening credits, blurring the lines between VX and VS??

Just to drag this old topic up but if anyone in the UK has never seen this programme and wants to know how bad it is, then it is being shown tonight on Viva (Freeview 21) at 8pm!
