Common Forum Codes & Shortcuts

Assume that the curly brackets in the following examples are square when you use them.
Countdown / Event Timers
Syntax: {event=date}event description{/event}
Example: {event=2012/07/27}Opening Ceremony of 2012 Olympics{/event}
will produce
URLs - Keeping them short
The new site actually now truncates URLs automatically on display, so this isn't as important as it used to be, but for readability it is good practice to use the URL BBcode.
Syntax: [url=address]description of link[/url]
Example: {url=http://v-flyer.com/the-community/my-profile}Your Profile{/url}
will produce
Your Profile
