Which plane VS019 2nd April?

Hi
Wonder if someone more knowledgable than I could shed some light on this for me please?

We are due to fly VS019 on Friday, according to the Which Aircraft? page the only planes listed are A340-600 (91%) and A340-300 (8%) (which I do realise only adds up to 99%, but there are no other planes listed)

When I selected our seats on Virgin's website, the seat configuration appeared to be that of a 747 (ie 3 on each side in economy & 4 across the middle, plus the plan shows an upper deck)

Is there any chance the seat selector is wrong? I know Good Friday is a busy day for flights, could it just be they're using a different plane because of that?

We only fly once a year, so I'm always a bit stressed about 'what could go wrong'!

Thank you

Hi Jackie and welcome to V-Flyer.

The data on here, shows which a/c have been operating the route recently, and yes, SFO has been operated by either the A346 or A343. SFO is usually always a 747 route, and it is changing back to a 747 for the summer season.

The most accurate information as to which a/c type you will be flying on, will be the manage your booking section of the VS site. This is the a/c type that they currently have planned to operate your flight, so I would expect that you will be flying on a 747.

Do remember though, changes can, and do happen at any point right up until the flight, basically because things change and they might need to swap things around.

Enjoy your flight and it would be great if you could post a TR afterwards.

Thank you so much for your (very speedy!) reply Neil.

I had been under the impression it was a 747 on that route (although I can't remember where I got that from) and just panicked when I looked at the Which Flights? page!

I'll stop panicking now (or maybe I'll just find something else to panic about ii) :D )

It was just on the Airbus for the winter schedule but is now back to the 744 for the summer.
