Tried to access my Flying Club account and found there is lengthy downtime scheduled for today and tomorrow. Is this an upgrade coming? Following in the footsteps of V-Flyer maybe.

Hey,
Sorry to dissapoint, but no upgrade this time around.
Contact Centre have been having problems with reconcilling FC with some ticket bookings, more specifically, those in T, U or G.
It's been taken offline untill tomorrow to fix this.
Hope this helps.
Guy

I wouldn't worry about it - it's not as if any reward fares, or MpM fares can actually be sold at present; so availibilty won't be affected.
I'm assuming you were going to use miles, and not wanting to buy a revenue ticket?

Down for maintenance work (both via website and via call center)

Revenue or miles or both, need to go to Portland next week and already have a booking to New York so wanted to look at options ... and I'm in conference calls from 0900 to 1930 solid tomorrow ... the Web is supposed to be the aid to all this but VS's crappy Web site management pains me.

Yes, I agree it's annoying - but it was a case of grasping the nettle and just getting it done.
Probably small beer, but you could always give Contact Centre a ring and put a hold on any seats - that's independent of the FC system.

I'm having a strange problem now.
I'm trying to book a reward flight in upper to barbados. I do my search, then chose the dates from the little calenders, but when I press show flights it changes the fare to an economy one every single time

It been like this for a while now. You have to be very careful before you confirm a reward booking that you are actually in the cabin you wanted.
It just seems to find any reward availability rather than the cabin you actually want.

When I was trying you had to get the calendar (which is correct), note the dates you want. Then go back to the start and enter those dates (instead of your original ones), and then you did get the correct class. Maybe they have broken it even more now!
