Marriott rewards to FC miles question

So after one of the worst stays in a hotel I have ever had Marriott had offered
me a number of Marriott reward points as Part compensation for our experience.

I have my Marriott account set up to automatically transfer any points into FC miles. However the points are transferee into miles based on the amount you spent on your hotel stay. Does anyone know if compensatory points will be credited to my FC account? And if they are does anyone know the formula for calculating how many miles one will end up with in their FC account.

I have no idea about the compensatory points angle, but there is a conversion chart for MR to FC points on the Marriott website - here.

Out of interest, which Marriott let you down?

Cheers Nick, I had seen that and thought they may convert the miles according to that grid.

It was the Bristol City Centre Marriott, the one next door to Cabot Circus. Was full of stag and hen do's, front desk service was awful and then we were kept up by a party in the room next door all evening until about 4am! As part of the compensation they have offered me a free upgrade on my next stay, will be going back to them on that as I wont be rushing back.

I think it's something that city centre hotels fall prey to at the weekend. Particularly if the hotel has an exec lounge and is offering cheap upgrades to the exec floor. I've seen people really caning it in the Hiltons in Manchester and Belfast, from the time the lounge opens to the time it closes.

I was just going to post the same opinions as those of pjh - the joys of city centre hotels at weekends. n(

We stayed in the same hotel a couple of years back, and thought it was fine. If we had experienced what you did, then we would also be very reluctant to return.

Clearly it is something that they have a problem with, putting two and two together, I would imagine the reason for the Exec Lounge being closed all weekend was to stop scenes such as those Paul mentions.

I was also pretty miffed at the hard sales pitch on check in. Would I like to upgrade to a suite for an extra £500.00. It was a tad unprofessional IMHO especially as the guy was more interest in the hard sale than actually informing us of the where we could find the lounge, amenities in the room, how the car parking worked etc.

Just makes you realise how wonderful the service and atmosphere at places like the RC/MO properties is.
