Hi All! I have just qualified for both the companion flight and the premium economy upgrade as a result of my virgin credit card spend. Can these be booked/redeemed online or do you have to call flying club? Presumablty there has to be reward availability for these or do they come out of a different pot?

You have to call FC to redeem this, and yes, there needs to be reward availability to use them, there isn't a separate pot.

The only thing is, to use the PE upgrade, there only needs to be PE reward availability, not Y also.

Don't get too excited about the Companion seat. You need full fare to qualify to use, mostly its cheaper to buy to better value seats..A marketing ploy...unless you're getting a full fare through someone else's money..

beleive reward availability same i.e. U, G etc. And ringing up would be the way.

The companion can be useful if you are looking to fly in PE. Quite often the price difference between a K and S fare is minimal, and you can use the companion voucher with an S fare, so quite often an S & Companion is cheaper than 2 x K's!
