For some reason the link won't open on my iPhone however I guess this decision has something to do with the NZ-DJ link up which is currently before their respective governments. Having read the documentation that was given to the kiwi governement it seems that the end goal is for passengers to not see any difference in service levels, in flight offerings etc between DJ and NZ ths enabling a result that means passengers will not care if they are on a DJ or NZ flight. Of course this is the ultimate goal of all codeshares but much harder to achieve in practice.

I can't get the link to open either. I have tried removing the forum formatting and then copying the link but only get a blank screen. ?|

So basically DJ is looking at moving from an LCC to more of a full service carrier by changing it's name, introducing business class and so on. To be fair it seems rather logical as would mean that there would finally be a direct competitior with QF and make DJ very appealing to any future *A membership. Of course this would also make a future tie up between DJ and NZ much easier, the whole idea being that the venturee will allow both carriers to cut costs by not operating in competition with each other. The NZ-DJ operation will be a huge undertaking for both carriers, effectively they are hoping NZ regulars will have no problem in flying DJ provided the in flight offerings are identical. Guess it would be like VS linkingnup with say TOM and hoping that all AG/AU members are happy flying on TOM.
