Hi all, odd question but off to SFO shortly and would like to be one of the first off the plane to avoid the long immigration queues.

Any ideas as to which doors are used for disembarkation at SFO and what seat numbers are near by?

thanks in advance

The first door to be opened is L1 in the middle of the downstairs Upper Class cabin. Once this door is opened, L2 (next to row 28 in PE) is opened to allow PE and Y to disembark.

At SFO, the VS flight usually doesn't arrive too close to other flights, so it's usually pretty quick anyway.

Yep, it gets in more or less one hour after most euro flights at the A gates, and well before the one or two later flights which come in.

Only variable might be the occasional need to park at a gate where the above doesn't work too well, but it's extremely rare - over many years of doing this route I have had it happen to me only once. Never did the flight with an A340, did this follow a different protocol at all? I know they regularly parked at a different gate (could see this from 101), but couldn't tell what they were doing w/the jet bridges without crashing my car :)

2 out of my last 3 flights to SFO have arrived just after the Air France flight.

If that happens, be warned, the queues will be long.

The SFO flight arrives after the KLM from AMS and the AF from CDG, usually sufficiently enough for the lines to have cleared through immigration.

However, if the VS is early and/or the AF or KLM late, then it's hideous in immigration.

VS19 also departs around the same time as the morning BA flight - usually about 10-15 minutes before the BA. However, if the VS is late, or the BA get away early, you can get caught behind the BA flight, which is also pretty rubbish when it happens.

I did one flight to SFO with the Airbus. Both L1 and L2 doors were used.
