Pre Order Duty Free - has the Flying Club bonus been cut?

I don't think I am going mad but I thought there was a Flying Club bonus of 10 miles per £ spent when pre-ordering the Duty Free. When I checked today this is now 2 points per £1.

Is this correct. Poor show if it is! :(!

I did an order at the beginning of June, and saw this was the rate. Not that I actually got the miles anyway, and seemingly no way to claim for them on the missing miles section.

Yes, it is now only 2 points per £ spent.

They have their own website for pre-orders. It looks a lot better than the parent VS site, but I wonder if anyone actually uses it? ?|

I used it (I think) in May before I flew to the US. It was pretty seamless from what I remember. Can't remember what miles I got but at least I got the stuff on board on my return trip. The first time I flew Virgin back in 2005, I ordered on board for the return journey and found that the return trip date got mixed up - luckily they actually delivered the order to me at my home address. I don't think they'll do that now.

Just to add to the above at the time of pre order of Duty free I also registered on the Duty Free site - 'To make things easier for when I next pre-ordered' ! As still no airmiles credited for this I just tried to find a place on the website for claiming for these 'Missing Miles' but there isn't one so I then went into the Duty Free website again to see if there was anything on there, on entering my e-mail address and password (of which I have a confirmation from Virgin when I originally registered) I got a message back to say that neither e-mail address or password exist! What ever is going on with Virgin's websites at the moment?
Any suggestions any one?

We regularly use the pre-order duty free. It usually take a few weeks to get the miles, but we have always got them. They have also never let us down in terms of delivery either.

In our opinion, it is cheaper than Heathrow duty free. The only downside is the limited offerings

Together with the 2 miles per £1, there is also a 5% discount when spending £50 or more.

Overall, we consider it a good deal.

I believe the company that runs VS duty free only do the miles transfers once a month.

I always make sure I copy the receipts they send you in the post before I fly (when the crew hand you over your pre-order, sometimes they give you the order form back, other times they don't)

I've needed to request miles a couple of times now which I've got by posting the pre-order receipts to the usual Flying Club support address.

Always do the pre-order for a friend for their ciggies. I thought it was a 'win-win' - their cheap fags, me 10x miles.

Will be returning on VS32 on Friday and will pick up then, but did not know about the reduction in miles.

Had a couple of problems in the past though - one where the outbound Mumbai crew ransacked the Duty Free (including my pre-order) as it was one of the last Mumbai flights and they were obviously on their last flight home. Coming back to LHR the crew had to be met at the door to ensure that it was not them who did it.

Have had a couple of other 'non-deliveries' as well.

I had also previously confirmed with them that the miles get transfererd at the end of the month.

Ah yes I now seem to remember that the miles don't get credited till the end of the month, thanks for the reminders. I shall keep an eye out for them (so to speak). It was great when you got 10X but I suppose every little helps however small !
