Earlier this year I got an email saying I had got a voucher for a second economy miles seat at reduced rate (half?) miles.

I have spent 30minutes looking through every part of my account and can't find it, though I did see it there when I once looked. - any idea where this got buried on the website? they sure make it hard to find it!

I think its because I'm a high spender on the credit card, which is nice, although BA gives you a free companion miles voucher in any class and any destination, after $30,000 spend. VS needs to up their gift on this a bit to keep higher spenders!

Do you mean a companion voucher for reaching the required spent amount on the VS CC?

If so, it should show on your online FC account. You might need to change it from showing the last 5 transactions to 1 year by using the drop down menu, but then you should see something like

VAA Credit Card Companion Flight Qualification

which is what shows on my account.

Remember to use these you do need to book the required fare code with cash and there needs to be reward availability also.

You will have to call FC to redeem it anyway, and they will have a record of it on your account.

In fact it's for renewing my gold card, not CC spend, so my mistake.

doesn't seem an especially great deal, but maybe will use it this year for friends.

To be honest, you won't find many on here who think they are worth using, and I have never managed to use one yet. The best option seems to be with an S fare PE ticket, as quite often there isn't much difference between an S and the lower K fare.

In UC, when you have to buy a full J, which is way more than 2 x Z's and economy, where the taxes alone almost make it pointless, it just doesn't make any sense to use them usually.

wish VS gifted big spenders like BA do. $30k every year = free companion miles ticket: book one miles reward seat, get another free - anywhere, any class, any amount of miles. Even to Australia in First Class! Great voucher, makes you feel appreciated.

My first 30k every year goes to the BA credit card, and the VS spend only comes after that reward voucher is achieved.

Thanks for that guidance Neil. I have been trying to work out the real benefit of my Au renewal Companion Ticket and I'm struggling. From an FC member point of view, we would be better off having, say, 50K miles added to our account then it could be used for a companion ticket or any other normal reward.

Without being too flippant. From my own experience, we would be better off if we had five FC points added, instead of getting the Gold Renewal and VS Amex companion vouchers. n(
