Hi All

I’ve finally booked our reward seat flight to Miami in Upper Class, we upgraded from Economy using our points. I have put my husband and I into seats 11 & 12K going and 11 & 12A coming back, is this the best position for a couple on a A340-600 or would it be better to be opposite to one another?

If you're in 11 and 12K you will be facing the wall and will have a lot of privacy but 11 and 12A you will have people facing you.

Personally I think you are better off having one on front of the other rather than opposite one another

Isn't it the other way round? The low number K seats face the wall, while the higher number A seats do also (and the higher K and lower A face another seat) We sat in 10/11A both to and from MIA last year and they faced a wall and were perfect.

I do agree with HL and suggest you change the leg which have seats facing another seat to one facing the wall for more privacy.

I would also like to know what people think is the best place to sit on an a346 for a couple. Facing wall or facing other seats?
What about an a343?

Would much rather be in the a zone of a 744 though...

Best place on the A346 is facing the wall so either 2-7K or 8-17A.

The best place on the A343 is the K seats as they all face the wall.

You are of course, quite right. The moral of the story is never reply to a post while watching an All-Ireland Football Final when your county is playing and they have just gone into the lead!

The curtains at row 7 are always open unless it is a flight with Snoozezone (VS46, 10, 12, 22, 2 and 400).

Another vote for facing the wall (whichever seats those are :w ) and sitting one in front of the other. If you're sitting opposite your travelling companion you have to communicate across a distance of the height of two adults plus the aisle. The only time I'd choose opposite would be the front two seats in a 747 and then only because it mitigates the risk of playing footsie with a complete stranger...

we did LHR-DXB a few weeks ago in 10/11K which had people facing us. In 9K was a woman with her partner in the seat opposite. I felt we had the better seats. The middle seats are fairly far away, but I did get the feeling that facing the wall (eg. being in 10/11A) might be a little claustrophobic when sitting down.

I think I will change to 11 & 12A, we are the only ones in the cabin at the moment so could pick any seat we liked.

I'm flying LHR-LAX-LHR in March and it will be my first time in Upper. I am travelling alone. Can someone please advise me where the best place to sit is on a 340-600.
