12a and K - available through OLCI only?

Are seat 12a and k only available once OLCI opens? We are traveling as a 3 with our 20 month old daughter and I want to get us some good seats!

Also, if I book my husband on 14a or k and then 12a and k dont become available, can we change his seat once more so that we could sit together somewhere else on the plane?

Thanks
Laura

Yes, 12A&K are usually on available at OLCI stage.

You should be able to change your husbands seat providing other seats are available.

Check a couple of hours before OLCI opens as sometimes they are released then. I managed to get them once some five hours ahead of OLCI

what I would do now is request three seats together (then whatever happens you will be close to each other).

If 12A/K do then open up and you manage to get them then result but if not you are still together.

We were able to book 12A/K months before our flight. They were our inound flight.

Ditto. I bagged 12K and 14K on the inbound several months before our recent trip west, so I don't think that the 12's only become available at OLCI.

12A&K used to be treated as bulkheads and so were unable to be pre-booked. However for a period during the summer bulkheads were wide open for that for some reason. I don't know if that is still the case but it is worthwhile to check from time to time

Just checked my MCO flight and the equivalent seats 6A&K are available to request.

Not that I have any desire to take them. :)

What's so special about these seats?

There isn't anything special or different about them, but, depending on who you are travelling with, the location of them can work very well.

For a couple they are very close, so allow you to chat and interact easily, plus there is a handy little shelf at the front of them, giving extra storage room. For a family with a small child, again, because they are so close to each other, they allow you to keep a closer eye on them, and also you can 'surround' them by choosing 14A and/or K also.

mmm-interesting.

They aren't available to take at the moment so not sure. We are flying at the end of October to San Francisco so I'm not sure if they have gone or just aren't available. Dod you think I could ring to find out?

Thanks again

Just thinking about it, I remember booking them well in advance for our return from SFO in May, so maybe it is a new policy.

I suppose a call to VS wouldn't harm, but they might only be able to say they are unavailable rather than if they are blocked or booked by another pax.

Hi everyone

Thanks for the advice - I rang up VS but it turns out the seats have gone in 12a and k. Does anyone have any other recommendations about where to sit with a toddler in a group of 3? I want her to be able to see us when she is sitting on her own for takeoff etc and also to get somewhere fairly private for us and other passengers sanity! We cutrrently have 20g and k and 21k booked as there aren't too many more options available.

Thanks again
Laura

Those are the seats that I was going to suggest for you as the next best alternative. They are the front row in the second part of the UC cabin so you will have no one in front of you.

You will also both be able to see her fine for take off. Your daughter will be sat in 20K and then one of you directly behind in 21K and one sat directly opposite her in 20G so she will be able to see both of you okay as well.
