do you guys ever say "4 in the front, 10 in the middle and 150 down the back" (or something similar) that way you get a real feeling of the loads.

Expertflyer only shows a max of up to 9 empty seats, so you can't really tell how full it is.

You can only look at the lower fare codes and if they are showing 9's as well, it (could be ) pretty empty.

BTW you don't add up all the numbers to see how many are available on the plane in total or for a particular cabin.

There are 6 tickets left to buy in UC (J/D/R/Z) fares not 24!

As tickets are sold the numbers will change plus as advance purchase periods expire the number for a code will turn to 0 but the overall number will stay the same.

In PE (W/S/K) there are 4 seats left in total but only 2 of them are in K fare code (the cheapest in PE).

In Econ currently there are 9 or more tickets available. This could mean anything from 9 to the capacity of the cabin !

And nor do we have access to real availability figures, VS's system will show different numbers, because it also calculates the likelihood of no shows on each flight / in each cabin!

That would be fascinating to see.

I must admit - I've done a couple of no-shows - but that was purely on work business, and they have made the call for me to not take a flight or change a flight etc.

Wonder what the 'average' % is of no shows?

Well the number of no shows can be quite high for example on a JFK where there are many passengers travelling on full fare flexible tickets so they can change flights without penalty. Compare that to an Orlando flight where nearly everyone is going on holiday (so they're always going to turn up) and on restricted fares then then the no show rate is very, very low.

That all makes sense, but when you say 'quite high' how high is that?

5%? 10% more?
