Rum take-off from MIA last night ...

We're delayed on the ground because the load computer in the UK has failed and not delivered the plane's load and balance data.
Then, on take-off, we roll slowly down the runway for 40+ seconds with no great hurry, then, probably three quarters of the way down the PF increases thrust to a level I've not heard before, we're kicked back in our seats with acceleration, and really zoom up pretty close to the end of the runway. This was not noticed by me alone ... and this was on 9/27, a 13k ft runway!
Connected?
I have to say that it's things like computer or data entry error (similar to the EK near disaster at MEL recently) that worry me more nowadays more than the capability of the airframe when flying ... am wondering if something similar happened.
