Looks like VS (and VA and DJ) will be launching a shared Clubhouse facility at SYD by next year!

In addition to this, some articles mention a Virgin Atlantic/America joint Clubhouse at LAX too!

And another article here - with interesting speculation of a Virgin Alliance!

Good news, there's one other place that really needs this and it's LAX. But that would mean moving VS from T2 to T3 where VX and VA are ... great to see the same article says VS is looking at that.

These moves are not supportive of Virgin airlines joining an alliance though?

Maybe I read into it all slightly too much - but consolidating resources at LAX and SYD seems to be the way forward and may pave the way for something like a consolidated Virgin airline?

The problem for a consolidated Virgin Airline is the US restrictions on who can own a domestic airline, which is why SRB does not own a majority of Virgin America.

They could be though Slinky! Thinking about it- if the Virgin carriers streamline now and join an alliance en masse it will make it all much easier. And lets be honest an awful amount of alliances have multiple lounges at one destination.

I think it is an excellent move and about time really.

Does anyone have any news on the LAX Clubhouse? Amenities? VA and VX access? Opening date?

I got the impression, from the article, that the build is in progress. Or maybe I've got that wrong. Anyone know anything else?

Will follow with interest although it's probably not going to come in time for me...

I fly out of LAX on 9th April 2011...
