A report can be found here following the incident involving G-VROC at Johannesburg last year.

Interesting in report.
Any ideas why Prestwick was an alternate? I thought they normally had alternates a little nearer. As it says in the report, they had to load extra fuel to have this alternate.

Nice to have your positioning pilot sitting in UC above the nosewheel, obviously someone senior if they asked for advice.

Flight date 28th October 2009.
Check out the weather hourly observations for early 29th!

If there's anyone else that might contribute - senior or junior - then automatic to consult.
Travelling in UC you can hear and feel the movements of the nosewheel quite well - much better than on flight deck!
