Is there anything other than VS flights and partner flights that can be purchased with miles?

I had hoped to use some to book a rental car but that does not appear to be possible.

There are certainly other options, have you not looked at the Spend Miles tab on the VS site and all partners? Common car hire firms are not listed but some local ones in some locations are, and I didn't realize that for 375k miles you can have a three night stay at Ulusaba. Now that's something to think about!

As Slinky says, Ulusaba is an option - but there are some that don't require quite as many points. 8D
