Booked via a Group Booking - seat allocation concern

We are booked on a cruise and leave the vessel abroad. The return flight is with Virgin but the ticketing from the cruise line does not show a flight booking reference. We have opted to upgrade from the standard economy seat offered by the cruise line. Flight Expert shows the premium economy section fully booked - clearly by others leaving the cruise line.
Can anyone think of a way I can find out what seats have been allocated to us without a booking reference.
Many thanks
Fairphil

I had rung the cruise line who replied -" all seat allocations are made by Virgin "

Rang Virgin and have yet to find anyone who has the 'authority ' to answer this query for a person who did not make the booking and suggested I ring the cruise line.

As ever the buck continues to pass!

Cheers anyway

Indeed only the person making the booking can generally access it otherwise anyone could ring in and start moving your seats about and accessing other details about your trip.

Data protection rules are there for a reason !

When is your cruise? Your cruise company might be holding your seat but not actually issue your tickets until a couple of weeks before hand. Have you got a ticket number starting 932-xxxxxxxxxx?

Thanks eejp1007 - I have been issued with an e-ticket by the cruise company - but it does not list any booking ref number.
It shows only tha flight number and date of departure.
The instructions merely say 'show this e-ticket at check in'.
So there is no booking reference to enter in the usual 'Manage my Booking' site on the Virgin web pages.
All seems a bit unusual.
Cheers to all for suggetsions so far.

If they've sent you the actual E-ticket, the booking reference should be on it. It's a 6 digit alpha/numeric code.

All I can suggest you do is call your cruise line again and ask them for the VS PNR.

Calling VS direct is pointless as they will not touch or even go near any non-direct agent made flight booking now. They use data protection as their excuse (even though it's your details and data on the VS booking).

Also, if they have sent you an e-ticket, it will have a ticket number on starting with 932 e.g. 932-1234567890 and you can use this to go into manage my booking.
